Rik, it is a pretty good summary of the major issues on energy. Labour wants to be a lot more active in promoting investment (why you see GE deciding to open a factory here after the budget set up a £60 million fund). The Tories have grasped the magnitude of the energy crisis and want to get on with it (green banks, carbon tax, capacity payment) and the Lib Dems think we can all do it without nuclear, which is going to be a real stretch. Think people are beginning to realise there are plenty, plenty jobs out there from refitting boilers to building turbines...

I am not very comfortable about proportional representation. But the idea of not having to worry about what some fictional woman with two kids and no brain thinks about an issue would be a nice way of doing politics… Get that book finished, Steve…
